PART II: PROTECTING HUMAN RIGHTS


Identifies key issues related to protection from abuse or mistreatment, including documentation of critical incidents, notification of regulatory agencies responsible for protection and advocacy and the form and function of Human Rights Committees.

PART III: UNDERSTANDING INDIVIDUAL HUMAN RIGHTS

Adapted from Part I it includes a simplified version of the history of human rights recognition, beginning with the Declaration of Independence and following important legislative initiatives designed to recognize and protect the rights of all citizens.

Consumers can hear perspectives on the six fundamental human rights from a person with disabilities who has become a leader in the self-advocacy movement in the state of Massachusetts.
